Hi! I’m Hithyshi based out of Melbourne, Australia :)
My love for photography began when I was a teenager. I was gifted my first camera, a Nikon Coolpix, by my dad as a graduation present from high school. At the time, neither my dad nor I knew much about cameras. The camera was meant to help me capture memories of my graduation, but when I first received it, I didn’t take it as seriously as I do now. To me, it felt more like a toy than a tool. I was excited, of course, but I didn’t have any expectations beyond using it for the event itself.
On the day of my graduation, I still remember the feeling like I was just playing around with it, just pressing a single button to capture moment. But when I looked at the photos afterward, I was surprised by how much life they captured. Not only they documented the event, but also captured the emotions, the little details that made the day memorable.
Ever since then, the adventure of discovering this new toy began! I took photos of sunsets, silhouettes, friends hanging out, flowers blooming, coffee mugs, and even self portraits!
Over time, I shifted to Sony a6000, my first mirrorless camera where I deep dived into technical aspects. What still captivates me is this tiny gadget we call a camera. It opens up a world of creative freedom, letting me capture the world the way i see it. It's like magic in a box!
I began to post my photos online, and the feedback I received from friends and strangers alike made me realise I was onto something special. It wasn’t just a hobby anymore, it was a passion.
Today, I work full-time in IT solving complex problems, analysing and helping businesses optimise their processes. But photography has always been my creative escape, my part-time gig :)
